doxx.net Secures $38 Million Series A to Launch Agentic Defined Networking for Private AI and Human Browsing

doxx.net Announces $38 Million Series A Funding Led by Andreessen Horowitz

Miami, FL-based doxx.net has raised $38 million in a Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Animo Ventures and Focal.vc. The company was founded in 2025 by serial founder and hacker-at-heart Barrett Lyon and operates across six continents. The funding announcement coincided with the public unveiling of doxx.net’s Agentic Defined Networking (ADN) platform, currently in open beta.

Agentic Defined Networking Addresses AI Agent Security Risks

The ADN platform provides AI agents and human users with a secure environment for browsing, communicating, and acting on behalf of users without relying on central intermediary servers. Traditional agent operations expose users to risk because agents often cannot distinguish between safe and unsafe actions while using user accounts and authority. ADN mitigates this by blocking known malicious destinations, malware, and phishing sites before connection occurs.

"The industry sells privacy as a feature while routing your traffic through rented infrastructure they don’t own and can’t verify," explains Barrett Lyon, founder and CEO at doxx.net. "We physically built something different: a platform where privacy comes from the architecture itself, not a policy document. We do that so people and agents using the network, not third parties, set the terms of their privacy. They know what you search, where you go, and who you talk to. We don’t. And we built the network so we never can."

ADN Delivers Serverless, Peer-to-Peer Privacy by Design

ADN functions as a parallel, private networking platform enabling serverless peer-to-peer communication with end-to-end encryption for messaging and file transfers. By eliminating central servers, the platform removes single points of interception, surveillance, and censorship risk. It includes built-in threat protection, agent integration via API control, and anti-tracking features.

The platform offers native applications for iOS, macOS, and Android, with support for Windows and Linux, all operating on doxx.net’s global backbone. Users access the network through a proprietary naming system that includes 196 custom top-level domains (TLDs) and a dedicated certificate authority.

Independent Infrastructure Enables True Network-Layer Privacy

Customers run ADN on infrastructure fully owned and operated by doxx.net, including its own IP space, autonomous system number (ASN), DNS root, certificate authority, local AI models, and bare-metal servers. This end-to-end ownership ensures no third party can access or log user or agent activity.

Notably, the platform requires no usernames, passwords, or personal information for account creation. Instead, identities are established through proof-of-work, reinforcing anonymity and reducing attack surface.

Early Threat Blocking Metrics Show Real-World Impact

Since December 2025, doxx.net reports having blocked more than 38 million threats during closed beta testing of the ADN platform. This includes known and emerging malicious destinations prevented at the DNS level before any connection is attempted by agents or users.

"The internet was never designed for privacy," adds Joel De La Garza, partner at Andreessen Horowitz and board member at doxx.net. "doxx.net has built a one-stop privacy stack from first principles, delivering truly private security and communications capabilities, so humans and AI agents can run on a network that is private by architecture, not by marketing promise."

By combining decentralized infrastructure, built-in threat intelligence, and agent-ready networking, doxx.net positions ADN as a foundational layer for secure AI agent operation in an increasingly autonomous digital landscape.
